I managed to convince some of my other friends to join me in play some competitive games. With this it gave me a chance to catch up as my brother had started topping me due to him having a couple friends to play with. This put me around 23 wins behind him making me completely getting destroyed in the competition. Soon enough I hope to be able to start passing him again. Also with this I met some cool guys i started running with in a competitive game. As with what I have done in the past I went back to the original idea and tried to improve a bit more with being able to increase the 3rd and last role q by 300 points. Because of the changes with the challenges we've also been doing other games with it going from game to game. We have even been using games that are not even supposed to be competitive like this like State of Decay 2 and SOT. Finally we are going to group all the wins we get with the rules we both made together and see who wins at the end of the challenge. Its also been kind of been competitive with our personal gaming friends wanting me or him to win.

As for this week i tried to focus on the challenge between me and my brother over the goal I had before.
As we had been doing this sense week 5 but I feel I want to basically make it what my whole project was about. My first few weeks worked great as a training start for my challenge against him, right now for week 10 i am leading by 10 but sadly there is not any official way we could keep score. With me already achieving my goals early by getting plat in 2 different roles i was able to change my project to this. This project is also a great way i was able to spend time with my brother as we don't talk as much. As with the ending of the project coming soon this was super fun to do so far and allowed me to try some different stuff I never dared to try. This week was one of the most interesting as when it comes to the competition, recently I haven't been able to play any of the games recently but I currently have beat my goal for Dead By Daylight, Beat my goal for overwatch so I have continued to try to get to diamond with my DPS. So far my goal is getting really close with me being at 2600/3000 only 400 away making this one of the closest runs to diamond ive ever gotten. With this some good information about the new game has come out and instead they are just going to update the 1st game making it easier for everyone. Also In a couple hours we are gonna have skill reset making it hopeful that i can raise my skill base by a lot and easily gain some SR.
After these couple weeks I, for the most part, have learned all of the character's abilities and strategies with the most effective being a Symmetra teleport, where you use her teleport to teleport behind the enemy to confuse and get a huge advantage on them. As of recently, a new game has been announced for the next Overwatch in the series. That changes almost half of the character's abilities. One of the earlier characters I .had talked about being Orisa got a huge buff. She now wields a Javelin that she can throw and her damage has been hugely boosted with her reload being changed to a heat count to match this. With this, some buffs came to about 10 other characters allowing for abilities to be tried and a new character. I'm not going to focus on rank in the beta for that game not continue playing to original to keep the challenge with my brother going and not mess up my progress so far in my genius hour project. To keep up with how I have been with my actual project its self, I have made less project with the tank class but made some project with DPS and a lot of progress with healer having gained a lot of rank in both healer and damage but lost a lot in tank.
Starting pretty late for this but my brother and I decided we would compare our ranks at the end of the 12 weeks. It's just something small to give me some more intensive to do this. We have played around the same amount of time. As another little added thing I've started leveling up my ranks in other games with Overwatch to see how I do but I'm still focusing on upgrading my rank in Overwatch. Having seen how my brother just loves playing against other people in games I thought it would be fun to do a little challenge with him. He is still at a lower level but has a lot more time to play than me. Going back to my point of leveling up in other games, Things like Sea Of Thieves, Dead By Daylight, and BattleFront 2 all have competitive parts in them with only DBD having an actual ranking system and the other 2 based on your overall level.
After playing for a couple of weeks mostly with randoms. Its clear communication is key, being able to line up attacks and coordinate with other people on what character and ability to use when had been a massive help and made life a ton easier and given me more of an open view to see the battle field and give better planing. With this I made huge progress as I have finally hit my goal and ranked up to plat in one of the selective roles while going way above that in free select. I also tried playing with 2 of my friends with one of them being very new and stopped playing a while ago while the other one knows the game and plays competitive a lot.
After weeks of constant trying I've hit a stopping point. For my Damage characters I've been unable to move for a bit while for my tank and healer I've been moving and going up for the most part. Having seen this I've Decided to take a more healer and tank approach to ranking up again rather than focusing damage. As for communication I have tried communicating with my teammates and calling out what they did wrong and can change. Sometimes this would work and my teammates would change their straggles leading us to a win. While other times i would end up getting called certain racially rude words that I can not say. This tells me text chat Isn't gonna work so ill end to join voice chat to help my teammates fix their problems and mine. In all the games I do good in I make sure to focus on protecting my team and keeping organisation.
Until recently, my ranking has been on a steady decline, but currently I have found a way to not overstep when playing. If I play too much and end up losing 2 games in a row, it's time to get off and try again later, or I will most likely end up with the same team and go on a losing streak. I have around 2100 SR as of the 16th, and I'm constantly trying to increase it. I have found a way to also get better scores with tanks. Considering my random teammates who play shield characters don't actually protect the team, I have decided to do it myself and so far have succeeded. Having a way to get into good positions and protect my whole team has been at the top of my list every game, and I have succeeded many times. This has a drawback, as recently my DPS has started to fall off, and with the huge Q time it really isn't worth it to play.
For week 3, I did something a little different. I decided to test out a couple of new characters to try to widen what I could actually play without letting my team down. The first couple of characters I tried to use were Orisa and Wrecking Ball. For Orisa, it was pretty simple to just provide a barrier for my team to protect them while also being a bullet sponge to protect my team while our healers helped our team. If given the chance, I was able to use my pull to pull an enemy into a certain spot and let me and my team quickly eliminate them to give us the edge. As for wrecking ball, he was a flanking character. With his quick speed, I was able to get behind the team before they knew it and give covering fire as my team pushed.
For DPS, I tried using Echo and Doomfist. For Echo, it was simple. I fly around, dealing as much damage as I could with the 3 seconds I had in the air using my sticky grenades and tri shooter. For Doom, he's hugely different as he is extremely up close, dealing over 200 damage, enough to 1 shot most characters with a fully charged power fist along with a shotgun to finish off tanks he goes after. He's one of the most unique characters, as if you can get really good with him, you can decimate an enemy team with ease. His main drawback is that the abilities he uses to deal extra damage to enemies are also the abilities that help him escape a failing battle, and if you get trapped in a battle you can't win with no remaining abilities, which can happen often with his slow shotgun reload, you are basically done for and will be sent back to spawn. This was probably one of the most interesting training weeks, as I had a ton of fun trying to find counters and ways to easily escape situations with characters I don't often use. Rank reset has happened as of today March 2nd. My first steps of improvement need to be centered about learning my character. As of now i mostly use Reinhardt and D.V.A for tank, for gunner I like using the characters Reaper and Junkrat, finally for healer I like using the characters Lúcio and Mercy. I will start my games with tank, as that is my favorite class due to having a huge health-pool and the capability to deal decent damage.
After having played a couple rounds I've moved which class I have decided to take for the project, with it now being gunner/DPS due to me seeing what type of character i'm better with using, as i noticed I love rushing in to deal massive damage while at the cost of a low health at only 200 compared to the 400-600 health a tank would have. To decide my exact game i picked some games I love and haven't actually tried competitive on and put them on a board. The board was spun and landed on Overwatch; this was one of the more popular games on the list. I got lucky for this choice cause in around 7 days of me writing this all ranks in the game will be reset and i will be on the same playing level as everyone else. Due to this I have put in some training on the game to help. I'm over level 600 from where i used to play it all the time, so I have a good idea of what i'm getting myself into. The competitive mode of the game has a distinct difference from the quick play. The normal game has 1 round and the winner takes all, while the competitive mode can go up to 4-5 rounds before a game as actually finished. Also with this game a penalty for leaving the game to the point you could get banned from the actual game if you don't be careful. overall, it's gonna be quite the experience i can expect.
