For week 3, I did something a little different. I decided to test out a couple of new characters to try to widen what I could actually play without letting my team down. The first couple of characters I tried to use were Orisa and Wrecking Ball. For Orisa, it was pretty simple to just provide a barrier for my team to protect them while also being a bullet sponge to protect my team while our healers helped our team. If given the chance, I was able to use my pull to pull an enemy into a certain spot and let me and my team quickly eliminate them to give us the edge. As for wrecking ball, he was a flanking character. With his quick speed, I was able to get behind the team before they knew it and give covering fire as my team pushed.
For DPS, I tried using Echo and Doomfist. For Echo, it was simple. I fly around, dealing as much damage as I could with the 3 seconds I had in the air using my sticky grenades and tri shooter. For Doom, he's hugely different as he is extremely up close, dealing over 200 damage, enough to 1 shot most characters with a fully charged power fist along with a shotgun to finish off tanks he goes after. He's one of the most unique characters, as if you can get really good with him, you can decimate an enemy team with ease. His main drawback is that the abilities he uses to deal extra damage to enemies are also the abilities that help him escape a failing battle, and if you get trapped in a battle you can't win with no remaining abilities, which can happen often with his slow shotgun reload, you are basically done for and will be sent back to spawn. This was probably one of the most interesting training weeks, as I had a ton of fun trying to find counters and ways to easily escape situations with characters I don't often use.
